is the CEO/Executive Director of McDonald Sunshine Place /Sunshine Tree Child
Development Center and was named the CEO for the corporation in September
2009. She has been working in the field of Early Childhood for over 29 years
but became a full-time Director in 1996.
Evette was educated in
the field of Business Administration at the University of Minnesota. She has
continued her learning journey by receiving her Lead Teacher Certificate from
Minneapolis Community & Technical College and a Director’s Credential
Certificate from St. Paul Technical College. Evette received her B.A. 2002
and her M.A. 2005 in the field of Early Childhood Education.
is not just a Director, she is an advocate for parents and children and
provides numerous resources for parents with community organizations. She is
a mentor to her staff and encourages them and assists with them with
completing their education and reaching higher goals in the field. She continues
to pursue her education and is available to fill in at any classroom if
needed. She is a member of MnSACA, and ACEI. She is also a workshop
presenter. She is very active in the surrounding community by being a member
on several boards. She serves as Chair of the 38th & Chicago Business
Association since 2011 and is the Treasurer of the Bryant Neighborhood
Organization. She was also the past chair of the Commercial Development Committee for the Bancroft
Neighborhood Association. She has become a key player in the activities
surrounding this four neighborhood corridor by working closely with the city
and Minneapolis Police Department. She continues to strive for excellence in all that she does.
